The proprietor, Gareth J. James, is an independent film maker operating out of Western Sydney and across the Sydney basin. 

 

Originally from South Wales, Gareth migrated to Australia in 2004 at the age of 18 and took night classes in Screenwriting and Theater Directing at NIDA. He then went on to study film at Macquarie University in 2005, achieving his bachelor degree in Screen Production in 2007 and an Honours degree in 2008. He is currently nearing the end of a doctorate in Film and Gender Politics. 

 

Aside from being an accomplished screenwriter, Gareth is also in the process of creating an anthology of Gothic poems and a compendium of short stories in the vein of Edgar Allen Poe and H.P. Lovecraft.  

Dystopic Films is a fledgling production company founded in 2006. It caters to anything and everyting, from Wedding Videos to editing home movies to full fledged independently funded productions.

 

Dystopic Films also produces high quality short films which have previously made the finals of several national and international film festivals.
